Importing Duplicate Hands

Postby HPCBuzz » Thu May 29, 2008 1:47 am

Hi,

I seem to be having a problem with importing hands ... often when I restart a new session PT3 seems to import old hands all over again ... I end up with numbers in the thousands in the duplicate hands window in the import screen.

This affects the HUD too ... on some tables it shows the stats from players playing in the importing duplicates rather than the current table.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Please make sure that the "Move Processed Files To" box is checked and that the folder the files are being moved to is NOT a hand history directory that you read from. (A good location would be a new blank folder you just created, or a location on a different hard drive.) Once this box is checked and the directory is set, once you finish importing and click 'stop auto import' PT3 will move your old hands so that they do not get re-imported many times.

You can also feel free to go to the directory you import from yourself and move all of the text files you find there to somewhere else, and that will resolve your issue.

Yep, thats already set up, I have it ticked and it points to

C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Processed

I think the issue is that if PT3 crashes or locks for whatever reason, it doesn't move them, so I have to reimport upon restart. Given stability issues - this means its a frequent problem.

Impact of duplicate reimport during session if restart required is that I get the HUD displaying old hand overlays and stats from players not currently sitting at the table.

I guess the only fix for this is improved stability in the next build?

Appreciate the work you guys are doing to sort this out.

Yes, we realise this is a pain. Josh is considering adding a high-CPU-use mode to auto-import until it catches up with all existing files, but one thing you could do to work around this for now would be to run a manual import after a crash and then manually move the files. I guess you wouldn't be able to do this while playing, though, as the files would still be being updated. You might be able to move them to a temp folder first, though, and manual import them from there.
